Advice and Opinions on Live Action Roleplay

Hello, people who’ve decided tolook at my blog! I am a Live Action Role Player (LARPer) living in the UK. I have been LARPing for, ooh, gosh, about 6 years, starting, like a lot of us, at the Uni society. I have played local weekly systems, fest LARPs, small national LARPs and one off games, so I have a pretty good range of experiences to draw from. I have also helped crew, run and ref games, but not as much as I would like. (That is going to happen more in the future.)
This will mostly be a blog of LARP advice. I am very invested in what has been termed by one of my friends as “accountable LARPing”, which basically translates as roleplaying with the enjoyment of the game, by yourself and others, as your top priority. Which is common sense really. There might also be kit-making advice and the like, because that too, is my jam.

I have made a lot of mistakes in my time as a LARPer. When I offer advice on this blog I can assure you, most of it is “I made this mistake once, and I don’t recommend it.” I am almost definitely still making mistakes. I will let you know when I figure out what they are.

I intend to post something up here once a week at least. I hope this blog is enjoyable. I hope it promotes discussion, and I hope it is, at least occasionally, useful to someone.

Thanks for reading 🙂
